Accident On The 210 Freeway Proves Fatal

One individual was killed in an auto accident in Fontana.  The accident occurred on the 210 Freeway.  Several vehicles were involved in the crash yet only one person passed away.  Let’s take a closer look at the details of this unfortunate accident and attempt to determine if a lawsuit will be filed.

About the Accident

The crash occurred a couple Wednesdays ago when a semi-truck overturned.  This truck ended up spilling the bulk of the sand it was carrying directly onto the freeway lanes.  The sand payload spread across the 210 Freeway’s westbound lanes, making travel a nightmare.

The resulting collision occurred shortly after 2:30 in the morning.  The accident involved an all-white Tesla automobile.  The California Highway Patrol incident log states a SigAlert was prompted immediately after the accident occurred by Citrus Avenue.  Sadly, one individual was declared dead at the scene of the accident.

The Response to the Accident

The California Highway Patrol closed the westbound lanes by the accident scene.  One of these lanes was later reopened, albeit to traffic that proceeded at a snail’s pace.  In fact, the lane shutdown resulted in a backup of traffic that stretched for miles.  Making matters worse was the fact that the accident occurred ahead of the morning commute, making the drive into work that much more challenging for hardworking Californians.

The Pending Lawsuit

The family of the victim will file a wrongful death lawsuit against the party determined to be negligent.  Negligence is a party’s failure to provide those in the vicinity with an adequate level of care.  The truck that overturned and spilled sand along the highway is clearly the cause of the accident.  If the driver of this vehicle is found to be negligent, the victim’s family will obtain financial compensation for lost financial support, funeral costs, burial costs, diminished comfort and all other losses tied to this unfortunate accident.
